We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to join our Wilmington MA office and lead automation and control projects for industrial processes and machinery. This role focuses on PLC programming DCS programming HMI/SCADA design instrumentation control panel design and system commissioning. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with industrial automation strong programming skills and the ability to implement complex control systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design develop and implement PLC DCS and RTU control systems.
- Configure and program HMI/SCADA systems using Ignition or Rockwell platforms.
- Develop control system architecture schematic diagrams and system documentation.
- Implement industrial automation protocols including Ethernet/IP Modbus Profibus HART OPC and Foundation Fieldbus.
- Program using Ladder Logic Sequential Function Chart Structured Text and SQL.
- Lead or support project commissioning and start-up at client sites.
- Ensure compliance with life science and industrial regulations including cGMP 21 CFR Part 11 GAMP5 and validation standards.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and act as project lead when needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Control Engineering Mechanical Engineering Chemical Engineering or Computer Science.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial controls engineering.
- Proficiency with Rockwell Automation PLCs HMI/SCADA platforms and Emerson DeltaV DCS.
- Hands-on experience with industrial instrumentation and automation protocols.
- Strong programming knowledge in and SQL.
- Ability to travel up to 25% to client sites.
- Stable work history required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with industrial networking: fiber wired wireless.
- Knowledge of electrical schematics power distribution and NEC standards.
- Familiarity with S88 Batch processes and industrial process validation.
- Leadership and client-facing experience.
