Location: On-site in Queens Family Court with occasional appearances in other NYC boroughs work directly with clients and teams creating lasting community change. (Openings in the Bronx and Queens)

Note: Must have at least 2 years of experience as an attorney and be admitted to practice law in New York.

Job Description

• Represent youth in juvenile delinquency and adolescent offender (AO/JO) cases in Family Court and Supreme Court Youth Parts.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including attorneys social workers investigators and paralegals.
• Maintain accurate case notes and data within the organizations case management system.
• Participate in outreach and Know Your Rights presentations for families and community partners.
• Contribute to team development and support the continued growth of the Youth Defense Practice.

Qualifications

• J.D. and active New York State Bar admission.
• At least 2 years of experience as an attorney.
• Experience in family and/or criminal court preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Bilingual in Spanish or another language a plus.
