Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert patient care in the cath lab including assessments planning implementation and evaluation for pre intra and post-procedural cardiac patients
- Rotate between pre/post procedural care and cardiac cath lab procedural support
- Collaborate with physicians ancillary staff and administrative personnel to maintain professional nursing standards
- Lead and mentor subordinate staff as needed fostering a culture of excellence and safety
- Ensure compliance with nursing best practices Iowa Nurse Practice Act JCAHO and other regulatory standards
- Maintain a safe clean and efficient work environment while actively participating in quality improvement initiatives
- Accurately document patient care and procedures including billing and digital image management
- Monitor and maintain lab supplies reporting shortages or ordering as needed
- Actively engage in patient and family education and discharge planning
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in the state of Iowa or a multistate license valid in Iowa
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Iowa Mandatory Reporter Certificates for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum two years of experience in ICU Emergency or related acute care setting
- Previous Cath Lab experience is highly desirable
- Strong interpersonal oral and written communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment
