As the Materials Lead you will be responsible for supervising and guiding a team of materials specialists to ensure efficient receipt distribution staging and tracking of fabricated and purchased components. This role provides leadership in inventory management job bin/cart organization and material flow across the production floor. The Materials Lead partners with purchasing engineering and assembly teams to maintain accuracy timeliness and cost-effectiveness in materials handling while fostering a culture of teamwork accountability and continuous improvement.
Are you passionate about this work
- Oversee receipt and distribution of fabricated and purchased components to production floor or job carts ensuring conformance to purchase orders. Direct issuance of materials to machines as prioritized by area supervisors.
- Manage preparation of fabricated parts for outside finishing including purchase order creation. Ensure accurate placement of received materials into inventory locations job bins/carts or designated factory floor areas.
- Initiate and oversee job bins/carts for each project ensuring proper signage staging and maintenance throughout the project lifecycle. Conduct and supervise periodic inventories lead participation in annual inventory programs.
- Communicate replenishment needs to purchasing and ensure timely restocking of materials.
- Review shop drawings with team to confirm receipt of proper parts.
- Oversee receipt of finished goods from production departments and ensure proper staging for shipment.
- Respond to assembly personnel requests for part status information and verify short sheets before assembly starts.
- Ensure compliance with procedures while promoting continuous improvement initiatives.

- High School diploma or GED required; additional technical or leadership training preferred.
- 3 years of experience in materials coordination or warehouse operations
- General knowledge of warehouse procedures and manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook. Experience with ERP systems; Syteline preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams resolve issues and maintain positive vendor/employee relationships.
- Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy efficiency and safety.
