Job Description: The person will primarily be responsible for producing crops for the Everett and Ottsville farms shopping for best price on seeds and fertilizer maintaining tractors and other farm equipment and maintaining crop fields in good standing.
Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
- Providing 1800 round bales of hay per year
- Providing 9000 1st cutting square bales of hay per year
- Providing 3000 2nd cutting square bales of hay per year
- Providing 3500 square straw bales per year.
This person is primarily responsible for all crop production and rotation of crops. There is 450 acres of tillable ground including pasture. You will be responsible for planting crops maintaining a good spray program harvesting crops all hay and straw production maintaining good yields and clean fields.
On rainy days and off seasons you will also be responsible for all manure management where you spread and when to spread. You will have to work well with others and plan with the production team when you can clean pens. You will have to build a relationship with local businesses as well as plan ahead for what the next years hay and straw needs will be.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- # years minimum of relevant working experience
- Good oral and written communication skills (English)
- Windows-based computer skills familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Good organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience with cGMP quality systems
- Ability to give directions train others and communicate effectively
- Pesticide License or willingness to apply for license once hired.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
