GIBBs Roads and Highways Services Delivery Unit provides a comprehensive range of services that include traditional consulting services (design procurement and contract supervision) Public Private Partnership (PPP) solutions and asset management services. This includes high-capacity freeways interchanges and bridges airport pavements rural roads (including low volume and haul roads) and municipal infrastructure. The team is supported by transportation and traffic engineers geotechnical and material engineers and other specialists.

Core Purpose
The successful candidate will support the Resident Engineer (RE) in the management and oversight of road construction projects. Responsibilities include monitoring contractor progress supervising construction activities in line with specifications ensuring traffic accommodation and maintaining compliance with OHS Road Traffic and environmental requirements.
Key Performance Areas
- Support the Resident Engineer (RE) in:
- monitoring the Contractors progress;
- monitoring construction activities in accordance with the specifications;
- monitoring traffic accommodation;
- monitoring OHS and environmental compliance;
- monitoring the site laboratory.
- Coordinate the issuance of site instructions and the receipt of contractors correspondence.
- Verify contractors measurement and payment certificates in collaboration with the RE.
- Approve acceptance control under the guidance of the RE.
- Maintain all necessary site records.
- Liaise with stakeholders and the RE to ensure smooth communication.
- Lead or facilitate monthly site and technical meetings alongside the RE.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Relevant Tertiary qualification: BSc or Degree.
- Registered as a Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng with ECSA.
Experience:
- 7 10 years on SANRAL projects Competent at Construction Administration.
- Competent with Civil Designer and/or Civil 3D.
- Construction supervision and management.
- Construction quality control.
- Minute taking at site and technical meeting.
- Preparation of reports.
- Good knowledge of COTO.
- Good knowledge of FIDIC Conditions of Contract.
