Covia is looking for a dynamicHeavy Equipment Mechanicwho will have a positive impact on theOperationsteam at itsThompson OHlocation. As aHeavy Equipment Mechanic you will maintain diagnose adjust repair or overhaul mobile mechanical hydraulic and pneumatic equipment such as front-end loaders bulldozers skid steers plant trucks etc.

The successful incumbent will have the following Key Accountabilities:

• Cleaning lubricating and conducting routine services on heavy-duty equipment & vehicles
• Diagnosing faults using computerized testing equipment
• Adjusting equipment and replacing faulty parts
• Repairing damaged equipment parts
• Performing major repair work as needed
• Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments
• Reporting damaged or faulty equipment to management
• Complete related paperwork and access databases required to complete job (work order parts order JSA Etc.) accurately and timely
• Performs other duties as assigned

The successful incumbent will have the following Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Proven work experience as a Diesel or Heavy Equipment Mechanic
• Certification as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or AA in Applied Diesel Technology preferred.
• Knowledge of database software internet software & manufacturer software.
• Proficient use of basic hand tools air tools precision measuring tools and instruments laptops diagnostic software and cranes and rigging equipment.
• Product knowledge of gas diesel electrical electronic and mechanical components.
