As an Occupational Therapist at Rebecca School youll help students with neurodevelopmental differences strengthen the skills that support learning independence and emotional growth. Using the DIRFloortime model youll design and deliver therapy that fosters regulation sensory integration and engagement partnering closely with teachers counselors and families to help each student reach their fullest potential in a nurturing collaborative environment.
What Youll Need
Masters or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy
Current New York State license to practice Occupational Therapy
Experience working with children or young adults; pediatric background preferred
Knowledge of or interest in the DIRFloortime approach
Strong communication and collaboration skills with students families and multidisciplinary teams
What Youll Do
Provide individual and group occupational therapy sessions to address sensory motor emotional and functional goals
Conduct evaluations and assessments to determine needs and guide treatment planning
Document progress through session notes progress reports and treatment summaries
Partner with educational teams to develop sensory diets classroom strategies and recommendations that enhance student participation
Support team members by modeling and training appropriate therapeutic techniques and adaptations
