Staff Pharmacist Acute Care Hospital (Contract Missouri Region)
Overview
A respected community-based acute care hospital is seeking a Staff Pharmacist to support its inpatient medication distribution and clinical pharmacy services. The pharmacist will ensure accurate order verification safe medication dispensing and adherence to hospital protocols. This short-term contract role is ideal for pharmacists with recent hospital experience looking to contribute to a collaborative care environment. Competitive weekly compensation is offered for this 12-week assignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify medication orders for accuracy appropriateness and compliance with clinical guidelines
- Oversee medication dispensing and distribution workflows within the inpatient pharmacy
- Provide pharmacotherapy support to the care team including dosing adjustments and medication counseling when appropriate
- Review medication regimens for interactions contraindications and therapeutic appropriateness
- Support medication reconciliation and transitions of care activities
- Maintain accurate documentation within pharmacy and electronic health record systems
- Assist with inventory management and controlled substance oversight
- Respond to medication-related inquiries from nurses physicians and allied health staff
- Uphold all hospital state and federal pharmacy regulations
- Participate in departmental quality and safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Active pharmacist license in the state of practice (or eligibility to obtain)
- Recent inpatient or acute care pharmacy experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy workflows and clinical therapeutics
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Reliable work history and professional references
- Completion of required competency or skills assessments (as applicable)
Work Environment & Schedule
