TEMPORARY PART TIME SCHOOL CUSTODIAN (Monday - Friday 12:00 - 5:00 pm)
The Environmental Charter School is looking for a reliable self-motivated individual for the school year (through June 2026)

ECS offers a program that develops students into critical thinkers thoughtful innovators and well-rounded scholars. We provide students the tools and educational foundation to become tomorrows global citizen and we strive to teach students how their choices impact the world around them. By using environmental content as a lens for instruction ECS provides students a context in which to explore ideas and observations to practice inquiry and to actively problem solve. Throughout their academic career at ECS students build core skills across all disciplines and then actively apply these skills to support the impact of learning.

POSITION OVERVIEW
- Under limited supervision the Custodian will perform janitorial duties that involve cleaning and sanitizing the school facility and its grounds in addition to performing minor maintenance. Work will involve a variety of physical demands. Ability to perform related tasks as required. Should be able to lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Wipe sweep dust mop wash vacuum polish and wax floors daily/as necessary
- Clean windows woodwork furniture and equipment daily and/or as needed.
- Clean and sanitize rest-room facilities and keep areas supplied with towels soap and other items.
- Collect and dispose of trash from buildings and grounds.
- Perform unskilled maintenance work that can include changing light bulbs door repairs unclogging toilets sinks etc.
- Performs outside work such as cleaning walks possible lawn maintenance snow and ice removal
- Support building-wide efforts around green & sustainable practices including green cleaning
- Ability to perform physical labor such as moving furniture and equipment lifting climbing ladders etc
- Ability to follow instructions concerning various chemicals
- Should be able to function independently under standard operating procedures with supervisor available to answer questions.
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required plus 1-2 years experience helpful.
- General knowledge of housekeeping tools equipment and supplies required
COMPENSATION
- Hourly rate of $17.35 with consideration given for prior experience
- Part Time Paid Time Off
