About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to join our Structures Division. The ideal candidate will oversee all on-site construction operations related to structures and heavy civil projects managing field crews subcontractors and suppliers to ensure safe timely and cost-effective project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and supervise field construction activities including company crews subcontractors and suppliers.
Deliver projects on schedule and within budget while upholding strict safety and quality standards.
Review and approve construction methods sequencing and operations.
Coordinate manpower equipment and materials for efficient field execution.
Lead pre-construction and planning meetings in collaboration with project management and estimating teams.
Maintain full understanding of project scope drawings and specifications.
Direct and mentor foremen and field teams.
Collaborate with Project Managers Engineers and Estimators to ensure consistent communication and alignment.
Supervise and update the project schedule ensuring critical milestones are achieved.
Act as the primary field liaison for owners engineers and inspectors; attend weekly coordination meetings.
Oversee and enforce job site safety compliance with OSHA and company standards.
Manage labor relations productivity and crew performance.
Review job costs production efficiency and timesheet processing.
Lead project closeout and ensure punch list completion.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong expertise in heavy civil construction particularly structures bridges and concrete work.
Proven ability to lead coach and develop field teams effectively.
Excellent organizational leadership and communication skills.
Skilled in problem-solving conflict resolution and time management.
Thorough understanding of construction industry standards methods and safety regulations.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
Education & Experience
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Construction Management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 8 years of experience in heavy civil construction with extensive structures project management background.
Proven track record of successfully supervising and completing structure-related projects.
Physical Requirements
Ability to work outdoors in various weather and noise conditions.
Frequent standing walking and handling materials up to 25 lbs.
Capability to climb reach and safely use construction site equipment.
Travel to job sites and project locations as needed.
