We have an immediate need for an Analyst Model Validation & Governance (02 years) to join our Risk Management team at our corporate headquarters in Norcross GA. An Analyst in this role will partner closely with other members in Risk Management Investment Valuation and Data Science teams to validate and review models across the company. Other tasks would include helping to maintain our enterprise model inventory perform independent model validation and build ongoing model performance monitoring routines. The successful candidate will be excited to work with large datasets and quantitative methods to ensure models are reliable explainable and appropriately governed. Projects in this area routinely demand strong analytical skills and proficiency with tools such as Python SQL Tableau and Excel. The right candidate will approach complex analytical problems with curiosity and a creative bent. The primary responsibilities of the position are detailed below.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:
- Maintain and continuously improve the enterprise model inventory (model usage/materiality ownership intended/extended use risk tiering lifecycle stage documentation links versioning).
- Support and document model validation across risk finance valuation and decisioning modelsassessing conceptual soundness data quality assumptions/limitations and outcome testing.
- Develop expert-level knowledge of the companys general modeling approach including understanding of core assumptions feature engineering model deployment and model usage.
- Build and run model performance monitoring routines (backtesting stability and drift metrics threshold/trigger tracking)and prepare dashboards/reports for leadership and governance forums.
- Partner with firstline model owners and technology on model change control data lineage and production handoffs (requirements test cases signoffs).
- Contribute to benchmarking and sensitivity testing; analyze deviations from performance expectations and propose remediation options.
- Assist with preparation of materials for model risk management committees internal audit and (as applicable) supervisory reviews.
- Help standardize and enhance policies procedures and templates for model lifecycle management and evidence retention.
REQUIREd skills/experience:
- Bachelors degree in Finance Economics Engineering Mathematics/Statistics Data Science or other quantitative fields.
- 0-2 years experience with machine learning model validation analytics or credit risk.
- Hand on experience with Python (pandas numpy scikit-learn) SQL (snowflake preferred) Excel and Tableau (or other dashboarding tools).
- Experience with data preparation and quality checks (profiling outlier detection reconciliation)
- Working knowledge of statistical modeling and machine learning concepts (linear/logistic regression decision trees random forest gradient boosting support vector machines etc.)
- Strong written communication: clear validation and monitoring documentation reproducible analysis and executive ready summaries.
- Ability to work well in a team environment while also having self-discipline and ownership of assigned tasks and projects.
Preferred:
- Exposure to model governance frameworks (e.g. OSFI E-23 / SR 11-7) issue tracking and remediation workflows.
- Familiarity with Git/Github Jupyter notebooks and dashboarding/report automation.
- Experience with cloud data platforms and job orchestration (e.g. database tasks dbt airflow informatica etc.).
