Position:School Psychologist or School Adjustment Counselor for Therapeutic ClassroomLocation:Woodland Elementary SchoolSchedule:School Year Salary: Per Teachers ContractTo Start:ImmediateQualifications: Licensed by DESE as School Psychologist or Licensed by DESE as School Social Worker/Adjustment CounselorExcellent organizational and communication skillsWorking knowledge of Massachusetts Core-Content Frameworks and Special Education Regulations Solid computer/technology skills with the ability to utilize various computer software and app programs (student databaseL ASPEN X2 Google Suite Ellevation Talking Points iReady etc)Ability to collaborate with colleagues and ability to function as part of a teamExperience working with students with social/emotional/behavioral disabilities requiredTraining and experience in Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Response to Intervention (RTI)Experienced writing IEP goals and objectivesExperienced as an IEP team memberTrained in De-escalation (CPI) (will train)Bilingual preferredResponsibilities:Lead a team of teachers and teacher assistants in a specialized classroom (therapeutic) providing short-term and long-term supports for students demonstrating maladaptive behaviors secondary to an emotional disabilityLead monthly clinics with families designed to maintain communication and offer parenting supportCollaborate with administrators faculty members families and community providers to coordinate clinical academic and family interventionsProvide individual and/or group counseling to students on a daily basisProvide a positive structured learning environmentAdminister psychological evaluations for students enrolled or being considered for enrollment in the TLC programChair special education IEP meetings for students enrolled in the TLC program (annual and triennial)Develop implement and consistently monitor goals and objectives as recommended on student IEPsDevelop and implement behavior plansProvide mental health support during crisis situations involving students within the TLC program and make appropriate referralsCollect and analyze data and develop data collection and analysis protocols to measure student progress and program performanceMaintain a working knowledge of Massachusetts Core-Content Frameworks Special Education Regulations and WIDA StandardsProvide consultation to the building based Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) team regarding students demonstrating severe emotional distressAssist with the development of crisis protocols for teachersUse knowledge of early childhood development and developmental differences to support teachers and families with students enrolled in the TLC program
