Job Summary:
The Resort Housekeeper works primarily during the afternoon and evening after the Resort closes for the day. This role involves maintaining a clean and inviting environment across public areas restrooms and internal office spaces at Homewood Mountain Resort. Responsibilities include vacuuming trash removal and general cleanliness of all facilities. Housekeepers may need to move or lift furniture weighing over 20 lbs. Proper handling of chemicals and protective equipment is essential and all cleaning tasks must align with the Resorts safety standards. Housekeepers are expected to report any maintenance concerns to ensure the property maintains a high standard of cleanliness and safety.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform Cleaning Tasks:
Sweep mop dust polish and vacuum all public areas restrooms and office spaces to meet company standards and department checklists.
Trash Management:
Ensure all trash is disposed of properly and hygienically in designated receptacles or dumpsters.
Window Cleaning:
Wash and maintain windows in accordance with company standards.
Dusting & Polishing:
Regularly dust and polish furniture fixtures and fittings.
Equipment Protection:
Safeguard cleaning equipment and ensure its proper maintenance addressing any inadequacies.
Team Communication:
Collaborate with fellow staff and supervisors to ensure daily responsibilities are completed according to standards.
Snow Removal:
Assist with snow removal when required.
Report Maintenance Concerns:
Promptly report any maintenance or facility concerns to uphold property standards.
Assist Building Maintenance:
Support the building maintenance department with tasks as needed.
Uphold Homewood Culture:
Promote and exemplify the culture of teamwork innovation and fun at Homewood ensuring both guests and employees have a memorable experience. Show professionalism and a commitment to safety and sustainability in every task.
Other Duties:
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to ensure a clean safe and welcoming resort environment.
Qualifications
Skills and Qualifications:
To perform this role successfully an individual must be able to carry out each essential duty effectively. Reasonable accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities to perform these duties.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to interact with guests and staff professionally.
Cleaning Knowledge:
Familiarity with cleaning products sanitation techniques and methods.
Physical Stamina & Mobility:
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including reaching kneeling bending and moving heavy objects.
Physical Strength:
Must be able to lift push and pull as needed.
Adaptability:
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
Eligibility & Legal Requirements:
Must be eligible to work in the United States and meet criminal background standards.
Drivers License:
Must hold a valid Class C drivers license and meet the minimum requirements of the companys insurance provider.
Language Proficiency:
Must be literate and fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
Appearance & Uniform:
Must maintain a professional appearance and be comfortable wearing a uniform.
Customer Service:
Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude toward serving people.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to apply common sense and follow instructions provided orally or through diagrams.
Education and Experience:
Physical Demands:
- Frequently required to stand walk sit talk hear and use hands to handle or feel objects.
- Ability to reach with arms climb balance stoop kneel crouch or crawl.
- Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to harsh weather conditions.
- Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions high or precarious places fumes airborne particles chemicals extreme temperatures and risks of electric shock or vibration.
- Noise levels are typically loud.
