Transportation Underwriter
Job Summary
Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transportation Underwriter to join a dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a growing organization that specializes in providing exceptional underwriting services in the transportation sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in underwriting particularly in transportation and trucking and will play a key role in managing and expanding a book of business. This position offers the flexibility of remote work with occasional in-person meetings and events.
Compensation Package
- Salary Range: $70000 - $85000 (depending on experience) bonus opportunities
- Competitive benefits package paid time off professional development opportunities etc.
Responsibilities
- Underwrite and manage a book of transportation-related accounts including trucking fleet non-fleet public auto livery and non-emergency accounts.
- Quote and bind new and renewal business with a focus on profitability and growth.
- Collaborate with senior underwriters and assistants to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with agency partners.
- Utilize agency management software to manage accounts and documentation.
- Contribute to the growth of the business by identifying new opportunities and expanding the companys presence in key territories.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a frontline underwriting role preferably in the transportation or trucking sector.
- Strong knowledge of transportation accounts and agency relationships in the licensed states.
- Prior experience utilizing agency management software.
- Property & Casualty license is preferred but not required.
- Proven ability to manage a book of business and achieve profitability goals.
- Excellent communication organizational and analytical skills.
- Adaptability to new technologies and processes.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
