Job Summary: Vest Tube LLC flatbed drivers are responsible for delivering cargo on time and completing necessary paperwork including delivery receipts and OTR hauls. Duties/Responsibilities: - Drive a Class A Truck
- Inspect truck to ensure it is in proper running order
- Complete an inspection verification sheet
- Report any problems to the appropriate personnel.
- Verifies load matches Bill of Lading
- Check flatbed to ensure everything is in good working order ensures tires are properly inflated and the load is correctly set for transportation.
- Strap down the load and tarp the load if needed.
- Driver confirms if client has an appointment for their arrival or not.
- Plans Driving routes for greatest efficiency
- Monitor road conditions and watch for traffic congestion
- Keep accurate records of mileage fuel consumption and delivery time
- May be responsible for picking up materials as needed from other suppliers.
- On occasion maybe asked to load or unload their own flatbed.
- May interact with customers answering questions collecting payments and providing updates on delivery status.
- Safely operates the truck in adherence to all traffic laws federal state and local regulations.

Certifications Licenses and Registrations - Valid State Class A Drivers License
- Has a clean driving record
- Forklift Operation Certification
- Ability to successfully to pass Drug Screen and background check in accordance to DOT regulations
Education and Experience: - 3 yrs commercial driving experience driving a flatbed truck with heavy loads.
- High School diploma or GED
