With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design KLAs Global Products Group (GPG) which is responsible for creating all of KLAs metrology and inspection products is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist software engineers application development engineers and senior product technology process engineers. First to deliver the best imaging and classification data for every defect or point on any layer at any time. EBeams mission encapsulates its role as the eyes of KLAs product line providing timely information on defects and critical locations on the wafer at the highest spatial resolution possible. Customers use EBeam products alongside KLA patterned and bare wafer inspectors to quickly understand the nature of defects and other imperfections on product wafers and take action to correct the manufacturing process.Job Description/Preferred Qualifications
The E-beam technology team is seeking a research scientist to develop and optimize electron sources to enable the next generation of KLA electron beam products. The position will accompany product development from researching initial concepts and new technologies to feasibility prototyping characterization and productization.
Responsibilities will include:
- Generate system requirements documentation and verification test plans.
- Communicate system requirements with other engineers including but not limited to electrical mechanical and SW requirements.
- Lead small cross-disciplinary teams for subsystem development and risk retirement.
- Design of experiment for system characterization and critical risk retirement.
- Hands on execution of experimental plans debugging of test setups analysis and presentation of results.
- Work with outside vendors to source key components as needed. Write and provide Scope-of-Work documentation.
- Some travel for vendor or customer engagement.
Candidate must have a background in electron sources (such as CFE & TFE) electron optics simulations SEM systems vacuum and electronic instrumentation. With hands on experience in high voltage ultra-high vacuum and electron microscopy
The position will require a broad skill set including simulation theoretical understanding and experimental execution. The candidate should be comfortable with scripting MATLAB and statistics packages such as JMP. Should be independent self-starter work well on teams and have good communication skills.
