Job Summary

Are you a dynamic results-driven sales professional with a passion for freight forwarding client acquisition and business growth An industry-leading organisation in the freight forwarding and e-commerce logistics space is searching for an exceptional Business Development Manager to join its high-performance team in Cape Town.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive new client acquisition consistently achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Build manage and maintain a strong sales pipeline with a focus on strategic high-value clients.
  • Conduct in-depth client needs analysis to tailor customised freight solutions.
  • Conceptualise and execute client acquisition strategies for long-term revenue growth.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operational teams to align service delivery with client expectations.
  • Build strong relationships with senior managers and key decision-makers across the supply chain.
  • Prepare analyse and present weekly and monthly client performance reports.
  • Monitor client KPIs and proactively address performance gaps or service issues.
  • Hold client partners accountable for agreed SLA deliverables and operational outcomes.
  • Travel within South Africa as required to support business development efforts.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree or Advanced Diploma (Business Supply Chain Logistics or similar).
  • 35 years experience in freight forwarding sales (essential).
  • Proven track record in business growth client acquisition and sales delivery.
  • Experience generating leads through physical and digital channels.
  • Strong competence in Excel/Google Sheets and PowerPoint/Google Slides.
  • Experience in the e-commerce or tech-driven logistics sector (advantageous).

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Data-driven analytical and able to convert insights into actionable strategies.
  • Excellent presentation communication and senior stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Highly organised deadline-driven and able to manage multiple deals at once.
  • Solutions-oriented mindset with a proactive self-motivated working style.
  • Comfortable in high-growth fast-moving environments with evolving priorities.
