THIS IS A PART-TIME POSITION LOCATE IN KNOXVILLE TN (20 HOURS PER WEEK)

JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Nurse Practitioner provides obstetrical and gynecological health care to women from childbearing age through the continuum of life. This position will practice under indirect supervision by the attending physicians of the OB/GYN residency program as allowed by the Nurse Practice Act.



Responsibilities
  1. Provides obstetrical care to low and high-risk patients.
  2. Completes physical examinations routine prenatal examinations and teaching evaluation of disease processes and referral to specialists as needed.
  3. Prescribes and/or issues medications and supplements as appropriate by protocol and certification by the Tennessee Board of Nursing with provisions of TCA.
  4. Provides routine well woman and low risk gynecological care evaluation of disease processes and referral to specialists as needed.
  5. Records and reviews patient record via electronic system.
  6. Completes charge sheet entries accurately and timely to facilitate charge reimbursement.
  7. Abides by billing and coding directives as provided by management.
  8. Performs other related duties as needed.


Qualifications

NURSE PRACTITIONER

EDUCATION: Masters Degree in Nursing. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of experience providing care for obstetrical and gynecological patients.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Certification as a Womens Health Nurse Practitioner. Must meet all state requirements and obtain valid PrescriptiveAuthorityincluding a DEA certificate.(COPY OF LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED)

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT

EDUCATION: Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant school. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of experience providing care for obstetrical and gynecological patients. This position will be working under the supervision of a licensed physician.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Passed the Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam (PANCE).(COPY OF LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED)

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Possess strong active listening skills and reading comprehension abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage schedule and documentation in a timely manner.

WORK SCHEDULE:This position may occasionally be required to work weekends and evenings
