We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Chemical Manufacturing Engineer to oversee and optimize departmental operations while driving technical excellence within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role combines strategic planning with hands-on execution to ensure the successful startup and sustained performance of new process units. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in enhancing Safety Quality Delivery and Cost for a fiber coating process.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy in a Process Safety Management (PSM) covered facility.
  • Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others
  • Proposes different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
  • Facilitation of proper management of changes originating from unit needs
  • Lead or assist in delivering technical training to operators
  • Initiate projects to improve the process
  • Extensive troubleshooting and optimization of the process

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in engineering from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Manufacturing and/or Chemical Safety)

  • Fundamental understanding of one or more problem-solving methods (RCA DMAIC FMEA etc.).
  • Experience working within Lean/Six-Sigma manufacturing systems
