Job Summary
Met-Con Inc. is seeking a Structural Steel Estimator to join our growing team in Cocoa FL. This full-time onsite role (with remote flexibility for the right candidate) offers competitive pay based on experience and the opportunity to work on projects that shape skylines and strengthen communities.
About the Role
As a Structural Steel Estimator you will:
Analyze project requirements and specifications
Perform material take-offs and prepare accurate cost estimates
Collaborate with project managers engineers and vendors
Ensure timely cost-effective and precise project delivery
Youll thrive in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment where your attention to detail and problem-solving abilities will shine.
Schedule: Monday - Friday
Location: Onsite preferred; remote considered for the right candidate
Responsibilities
Review drawings specifications and bid documents
Perform detailed material take-offs for structural steel components
Obtain and verify vendor and supplier pricing
Prepare comprehensive estimates for various project sizes
Identify cost-saving opportunities and potential risks
Conduct occasional site visits to evaluate project scope
Qualifications
Experience using Bluebeam On-Screen Takeoff or Tekla PowerFab
Strong knowledge of construction materials and industry standards
Ability to interpret blueprints and specifications
Proficient in Microsoft Excel with excellent typing skills
Strong communication collaboration and analytical abilities
