In support of the Diversity Services Indigenous Recruitment and Development Program (IRDP) this competition is Restricted topersons of Canadian Indigenous ancestry with a preferenceto Yukon First Nations

This is for a one (1) term position working 75 hours biweekly until March 31 2027.

The Indigenous Outreach Liaison plays an important role in supporting Yukon Indigenous artists and cultural carriers by offering guidance and culturally informed advice to help them navigate funding structures grant applications and other resources available to sustain and grow their artistic and cultural practices.

This position contributes to the development and delivery of Yukon government arts funding programs by providing insights and recommendations that enhance accessibility equity and responsiveness to Indigenous communities. The Liaison leads and coordinates outreach initiatives aimed at increasing awareness and participation in arts funding opportunities while actively building and nurturing respectful collaborative relationships with Indigenous artists and cultural carriers across the territory.

Essential Qualifications:

If you have these qualificationsensure you clearly expand upon them (for each applicable employer) in your resume using the year/month format. Candidates should have and may be assessed on:

  • Coursework in Arts Administration Fine Arts Indigenous Studies Humanities Public Administration or related field;
  • Experience in arts administration or cultural program delivery;
  • Demonstrated experience working with Indigenous artists communities or organizations;
  • Experience administering funds and/or budgets including assessment of financial reporting is an asset.

Candidates who have education training and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above will be equally considered.

  • An understanding of various art practices and disciplines in the recreational community professional arts and creative & cultural industries;
  • Strong understanding of Indigenous cultures and protocols;
  • Ability to interact with the public;
  • Strong project management skills;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills;
  • Knowledge of funding structures and grant processes;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting;
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills;
  • Strong client service skills.

Additional Information:

Conditions of Employment:

  • Class 5 Yukon drivers license.

Job Requirements:

  • Willingness to work weekends and flexible hours as required.
  • Willingness and ability to travel throughout the Yukon.

*Relocation expenses will not be provided for this position.
