About the role

The Head of Facilities Management role is to manage a successful team that delivers the core responsibilities through concrete steps that will enable managers and employees to accomplish their duties from a strategic and operational prospective.

The prime purpose of the role is to lead on the strategy of the management commercialisation and growth of the facilities operational team and services that it delivers to the current estate. This also involves developing the services to meet the needs of stakeholders effectively and efficiently.

The Head of Facilities Management will continually be developing the facilities services shaping it and assessing performance against goals for the team developing and building a sustainable customer focused service across the Civic Estates in line with the Councils wider goals and aims.

The role involves direct line management responsibility of 4 and oversight of a multidisciplinary team of 20 including Custodians security and cleaning staff



About you
  • Able to manage a team of operational facility managers by setting realistic targets monitoring outcomes reviewing and benchmarking performance to ensure that the team is in an environment that is continually self-improving
  • Experienced in leading a facilities management team for 3 years
  • Experience of sourcing goods and services that support effective and efficient delivery of FM services.
  • To have a minimum of 2 years experience as a budget holder in previous roles.
