***Relocation Assistance Available SALARY: $125000 EMPLOYER: A leading provider of long-term care (skilled nursing) and short-term rehabilitation- Searching for an entry level Corporate Staff Attorney with 1-2 years of experience in a corporate setting.
- Healthcare law is preferred but not required.
- Experience in long term care or in-house experience is a plus.
- This position will be onsite in the Louisville office and will report to the Chief Legal Officer.
- Candidates in the Louisville area will be given preference.
*****Ideal candidate is more of a corporate attorney not a personal injury attorney not a defense attorney not a prosecution attorney.Essential Functions:- General Corporate Work
- Risk management.
- Drafting corporate announcements.
- Filing corporate documents with state agencies.
- Corporate housework (preparing minutes maintaining records presentations to the governing body etc.); and
- Litigation
- Litigation management.
- Coordinate responses to subpoenas and legal notices.
- Track and manage litigation.
- Coordinate with outside counsel and teammates to conduct investigations and defend against claims.
- Review and summarize salient points of legal pleadings.
- Facilitate or verify discovery and discovery requests.
- Initiate and monitor efforts to preserve evidence (i.e. litigation holds).
- Negotiate settlements; and
- Attend ADR as needed.
- Regulatory Work
- Review and provide advice on a variety of regulatory and legal matters across multiple jurisdictions.
- Employee Matters
- Conduct internal investigations; and
- Draft position statements in response to EEOC and OCR claims.
