Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) Emergency Room (Adult)
Location: Rochester NY 14621
Shift: Nights 312 Hours (7:00 PM 7:00 AM)
Duration: 13 Weeks
Orientation: 16 Hours (Non-Billable)
Position Overview
The Emergency Room Registered Nurse provides high-acuity care to adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced emergency setting. This role requires strong critical-thinking skills the ability to manage complex conditions and proficiency in emergency procedures and interventions.
Scheduling & Compliance
Charting: EPIC experience required
Weekends: Every other weekend required
Holidays: Must be available to work every other holiday as needed
RTO: All requests must be submitted with profile
Call-Off Policy: Up to 3 shifts may be canceled during a 13-week contract without penalty
First-Time Travelers: Accepted
Pending License: Not accepted; must hold active NY RN license (NY is not compact)
Required Certifications
BLS
ACLS
NIHSS
Required Clinical Skills
IV therapy (blood product administration central line care phlebotomy starting & maintaining IVs)
IV vasopressor administration
CPAP/BiPAP; ventilator management
Experience with CVA/stroke neuro-trauma TBI spinal cord injury
Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
Emergency care for adult and pediatric cases (including gunshot wounds and ortho trauma)
Triage; isolation precautions
Pediatric spinal cord injury experience
Unit Details & Floating
Ratios: 1:5
Patient Population: Adults & geriatrics; all emergency-type diagnoses
Special Equipment: Rapid infuser Bair Hugger safe patient-handling devices
Floating: Required to float within ER-related skillset
Scrub Color: Navy blue and white combinations allowed
