Job Summary
Comprehensive Development Classroom
Instructional Assistant Position Announcement
Sam Houston Elementary School is seeking an instructional assistant.
This part-time position is for 29 hours/week.
Education Certification and Related Work Experience:
- High School Diploma (2 years college preferred)
- Meets highly qualified requirements for classified staff
Qualities of a Desired Candidate Include:
- Work with students under the supervision of administration and special and regular education teachers.
- Demonstrate an aptitude and flexibility to work with multiple schedules and student needs.
- Ability to lift 40-50 lbs.
- Tend to diapering and personal care needs of students
- Maintain student records and confidentiality
- Work closely with supervising teacher to provide support to students in the classroom as well as address individual needs in an inclusionary setting
- Commitment to student achievement and growth.
- Commitment and loyalty to the school and position.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by administration including flexibility in daily schedule.
- Possess honesty integrity and professionalism
