Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) Rehab
Location: Rochester NY 14626
Shift: Nights 312 Hours (7:00 PM 7:00 AM)
Duration: 13 Weeks
Orientation: 16 Hours (Non-Billable)
Position Overview
The Rehab Registered Nurse provides direct patient care to individuals recovering from stroke brain injury spinal cord injuries and other rehabilitation-focused conditions. This role involves supporting patients through recovery promoting independence and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal outcomes.
Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult rehab patients.
Monitor and assess patients with neurological and mobility-related conditions including CVA brain injury and spinal cord injury.
Utilize specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts and sit-to-stand lifts.
Collaborate with therapy staff and other care team members to support rehabilitation goals.
Float to medical-surgical (MS) units as required.
Follow unit standards regarding patient ratios:
Days: 1:5
Nights: 1:12
Document care using EMR (EPIC preferred).
Work every other weekend (EOW) per facility requirement.
Requirements
Certifications
BLS (Required)
Experience
Minimum 1 year RN experience preferably in acute rehab.
Experience with CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident) patients required.
First-time travelers accepted.
Additional Requirements
Must float to MS units when needed.
No more than 1 week of RTO permitted.
Pending license not accepted.
Block scheduling may be accommodated but is not guaranteed.
