Job Summary

Purpose of PositionTo provide temporary coordination of support services to children youth and their families who live in conditions which place the children at risk of not succeeding in school. The Home School Liaison is an integral member of the school and the Family and Community Empowerment (FACE) Team. DUTIES:Serve as a Liaison between the school and the home relevant to the educational or social well-being of the the entry of new families to the district and make home visits upon request of the teachers parents or as liaison for schools at parent teacher meetings when requested by administration teachers or a collaborative relationship with families by following up on all conferences. Assist teachers and administration in creating a school climate where parents/families become partners in the education of their in direct service support of students and families to increase academic success. Provide language services (translation interpretation) to support families and educators in maintaining open communication as partners in educationProvide students and families with information and referrals to local and nearby resources. Attend team and other similar meetings as requested by principal for the purpose of communication and service coordination. Develop implement and continuously monitor familys referrals and needs. Assist students and their families in overcoming barriers to utilizing services. Coordinate and facilitate workshops and family engagement events such as Coffee Hours Parent Information Nights and Open Houses in collaboration with district staff and community agency representatives during and/or after school hourRecruit families to participate in school-based committees and activities such as: Parent Teacher Organizations (PTO) School Improvement Teams (SIT) hiring and interview panelsCommunicate information to school administrators and staff. Assist during arrival and dismissal of students in order to communicate with families as confidential records for all activities and confidentiality with volunteer/community members. Participate in staff development opportunities within and outside the conferences seminars and conventions appropriate to district needs and for professional growth. Keep current of family support services and educational development research. Maintain a reliable attendance record. Create bilingual flyers and other materials in a timely manner to communicate school events/reminders with families. Communicate with families via Thrillshare (automated robo call) Perform all other related duties as assigned by building administrator(s) and FACE Team Leadership in accordance with District policies and :Salary: The pay rate for this position is $25.00 per hour. This is a per diem temporary position.
