Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Actuarial Associate Pricing Modelling & Analytics the Actuarial Associate will contribute to the pricing and modeling functions supporting the Canadian operations. As a key member of a cross-functional and collaborative team the successful candidate will provide analytical support across research assumption setting and product development initiatives.

As part of a creative dynamic and client-focused team youll be exposed to a variety of high-impact projects that will leverage both your analytical and innovative mindset.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the modeling of new business and inforce quoting activities.
  • Review reconcile and communicate results to the pricing function and business development teams.
  • Assist with special quotes and internal pricing projects such as NBEV analyses.
  • Contribute to cross-departmental projects including Research and Development and Assumption & Control initiatives.
  • Interpret client information transaction terms and risk structures to model and assess potential exposures accurately.
  • Participate in peer review processes and provide technical support to fellow team members.
  • Ensure adherence to pricing guidelines risk measures and best practices.
  • Maintain a current understanding of financial standards such as IFRS 17 LICAT and LDTI.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Actuarial Science Mathematics or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in insurance or reinsurance.
  • ASA/ACIA designation (or equivalent) with continued progress toward Fellowship.
  • Advanced computer skills including MS Office (Excel with VBA Word PowerPoint) and SQL.
  • Experience with AXIS and Datalink software is considered a strong asset.
  • Fluent/bilingual in English and French (spoken and written).

Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of Canadian accounting and tax reporting frameworks (IFRS 17 LICAT).
  • Exposure to investment strategies asset allocation and financial modeling.
  • Strong analytical technical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Highly organized detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A collaborative team player with a proactive results-driven mindset.
  • Comfortable working with complex models and large data sets.

Compensation Range

$88650.00 $110800.00 Annual

Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge skills experience and market addition employees are eligible for an annual bonus plan with some positions participating in a long-term equity incentive plan. A comprehensive benefits package is also provided including health retirement and wellness programs.
