Job Summary

This position is a member of the Executive Management Team and is responsible for directing planning developing implementing and evaluating efficiency of operations of patient care services while ensuring safe efficient quality care. Collaborates with the senior leadership team Board of Trustees medical staff community leaders and other institutions to improve overall health and quality of life for the populations served.

Qualifications:

  • Current Montana RN License or a multi-state compact license with authorization to practice nursing within the state of Montana; required.
  • Bachelors degree in nursing preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years leadership experience required.
  • Current BLS ACLS PALS within 6 months of hire.
  • Current TNCC or ENPC STABLE and NRP within 12 months of hire.
  • Relevant and working knowledge of the health care environment health care reform and care delivery systems as they apply to clinical practices of the facility. Knowledge of critical access and rural healthcare systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills detail-oriented a self-starter possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact professionalism and diplomacy.
  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.

Management Job Duties:

Strategic Execution

Drive organizational objectives by operationalizing changes and initiatives effectively and efficiently. Proactively anticipate both the needs of Logan Health and the impact operations has on the organizations success. Collect and analyze data prepare and present recommendations and explain associated benefits and risks for improving operations.

Job Specific Duties:

  • Organizes directs and administers the Nursing/Patient Care Services in order to provide the level of care required by current medical and nursing standards.
  • Maintains compliance with regulations governing healthcare providers and accrediting bodies by monitoring operations and initiating changes as required.
  • Guides and oversees completion of annual goal setting development implementation and monitoring of a strategic plan for nursing which reflects Logan Healths current and anticipated strategic priorities.
  • Creates a supportive department culture by fostering individual motivation coaching and training for optimum job performance.
  • Analyzes and responds to employee turnover taking appropriate steps to maintain high employee morale and satisfaction.
  • Effectively shares information builds relationships and influences positive outcomes.
  • Oversees departments budgets special projects and capital budget for nursing in assigned area(s). Assesses opportunities for new revenue streams.
  • Assists with covering shifts or assisting with fluctuation of census.
  • Exhibits a demonstrated commitment to the Mission Vision and Values of Logan Health.

Maintains regular and consistent attendance as scheduled by department leadership.

Shift:

Day Shift - 8 Hours (United States of America)

Includes working flexible shifts weekends and holidays when necessary. This position requires attendance of meetings and educational classes for the purpose of staff reviews unit staff meetings and quality improvement or clinical case review(s) required education and certification courses.
