Position Overview

A School-Based Registered Nurse is needed to provide 1:1 nursing support for a student enrolled in specialized educational programming. This role requires consistent daily attendance beginning at the students home and ending at the students home to support bus transportation.

The assignment is approximately 35 hours per week and runs for the full duration of the school placement.

Responsibilities

Provide direct 1:1 nursing support to an assigned student throughout the school day.
Monitor and manage the students medical needs including:
- Seizure monitoring
- Blood sugar checks
- Medication administration
- Feeding assistance
- Individualized health care tasks
Assist with mobility lifting hygiene care and toileting as needed.
Follow individualized health plans and collaborate with school staff as required.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation related to student care.

Requirements

Active Illinois RN License (IL RN).
Three professional references required for submission.
In-person interview required (no virtual interviews).
Ability to work independently in a 1:1 environment.
Comfort working with students with special medical or developmental needs.
