About the Role:

Position Overview

We areseekinga highly motivatedEditorial Data Analystto join ourBusiness Analytics & Enablementteam atWiley. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative environmentleveragingdata analytics and business intelligence tools to influence the performance of our products platforms and services within Research Publishing. The ideal candidate will be passionate about data discoverypossessstrong analytical and communication skills and enjoy using data to inform key decisions and drive continuous improvement across editorial operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performance Reporting and Analysis

  • Generate and review product service and platform performance reports and dashboards sharing insights with key stakeholders.

  • Support andmaintainResearch Publishings specific data tools ensuring alignment across editorial models.

  • Monitor and assess platform and product performance providing analytical support to drive improvements and meet KPIs.

  • Present data insights to stakeholders in a clear and actionable format.

  • Data Insights and Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Analyze performance trends across journals services and platforms with a focus on both routine operations and periods of heightened attention (e.g. following releases).

  • Collaborate with internal teams such as Peer Review Performance Managers Editorial Vendor Managers and in-house editors to improve product/service performance.

  • Data Integrity Management

  • Ensure data integrity by troubleshooting issues and collaborating with stakeholders to provide solutions for data validity concerns.

  • Document activities in line with departmental frameworks ensuring reproducibility and discoverability.

  • Decision-Making and Data Communication

  • Evaluate the significance of data insights and decide when to take action or communicate findings.

  • Identifykey stakeholders who need to be informed of specific analyses and provideappropriate recommendations.

  • Offer analytical support formaintainingoptimizing orsunsettingproducts or services.

Required Qualifications

  • Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Mathematics Statistics Computer Science Engineering or related technical field.

  • Experience:

  • 1-3years of relevant or transferable experience in data analytics ora related field.

  • Experience with data analytics methodologies including data cleaning exploration and visualization.

  • Technical Skills:

  • ProficiencyinSQL(Intermediate to Advanced level).

  • Experience withBI dashboard development(Intermediate to Advanced level) ideally inPowerBI.

  • StrongexpertiseinMicrosoft Exceland data analysis.

  • Experience in usingstatistical toolslike SPSS SAS STATA or programming languages likePythonorRfor data analysis.

  • Familiarity withPower Automateis a plus.

  • Core Competencies:

  • Stronganalyticalandcommunication skillswith a passion for data.

  • Ability tocollaborateacross teams and gain trust from various stakeholders.

  • Results-oriented self-motivated and able to work independently to achieveobjectives.

  • Capable of troubleshooting and solving problems with attention to detail.

  • Experience indata storytellingand presenting complex information clearly.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Exposure to thescholarly publishingindustry ispreferred butnot.

  • Previousexperience indata integrity managementordata visualizationwill be an advantage.

  • A proactive approach to learning new skills and methodologies in data analytics.
