Job Summary Sizer School a North Central Charter Essential School is seeking a driven dynamic and experienced high school physical education teacher to be a part of our instructional team. This candidate will bring a passion for supporting and implementing best instructional practices and a commitment to further promote an already existing positive collaborative teaching and learning environment. Only those candidates with a deep passion for the Sizer School mission and ready to teach in and be a part of an exemplary innovative public middle/high school need a high-quality and coherent physical education curriculum that is relevant to students and promotes their strong knowledge of the Massachusetts Health and Physical Education standards-based units of instruction and lesson plans with measurable outcomes and challenging instructional and classroom management practices that establish high expectations and create a safe and effective classroom instruction materials and assessments to make challenging material accessible to all students including English learners and students with as an Advisor to a group of students and works to shape curriculum and practice to support the whole on the effectiveness of lessons units and interactions with students both individually and with colleagues and uses insights gained to improve practice and student in school-wide and subject specific professional development and grade level team the learning and growth of all students through culturally proficient skilled and collaborative practice. Ability to create and use authentic resources and materials to motivate student to participate in physical educationUtilizes informal and formal assessment methods to measure student learning and data to inform instruction monitor progress and identify students in need of targeted instruction/ and engages students and promotes opportunities for students to generate understanding on their own through real world inclusive instructional practices to account for differences in students learning and upholds high standards for student work effort and to the Sizer School missionThorough knowledge of curriculum design MA Common Core and assessment toolsBachelor Degree or higher in Physical Education or comparable field from an accredited college or universityHighly qualified to teach in the assignment area; MA DESE License with SEI Endorsement preferred. Mandatory within the first year of working with a diverse population of studentsInnovative team player with abundant energy and proven history of serviceAbility to pass CORI and National Criminal Background check
