Job Summary

Center for Human Development Inc. is seeking a full-time Day Treatment Therapist/Coordinator to act as part of the Youth Behavioral Health Team to provide school-based psychotherapeutic services to students K-5 suffering from emotional and mental health disorders; facilitate services to enrolled children and families.

CHD WILL PAY UP TO $3500 IN RELOCATION ASSISTANCE AND UP TO $2000 TOWARDS FIRST MONTH RENT!

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in social sciences field current state licensure or willingness to pursue licensure preferred and two years relevant experience.
  • Required to qualify as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) per state laws.
  • Experience or education in A&D treatment child and family therapy techniques and crisis intervention a plus.
  • Trained in various Evidence Based Practices (EBP) biopsychosocial mental health assessment treatment planning diagnoses usually made in childhood DSMV and other modalities of mental health treatment.
  • Ability to work with and lead agency team school staff other professionals paraprofessionals and non-professional people.
  • Willingness to learn through in-service and outside trainings.
  • Knowledge of school-based classroom related skills and effective parenting interventions.
  • Good understanding of child development and ability to apply behavior management skills.
  • Familiarity with community resources for client and family needs.
  • General demonstrated ability to cooperate coordinate and accept supervision and participate in weekly staffing.
  • Must possess a valid Oregon Drivers license and be insurable for client service purposes travel between business offices and to attend required meeting and/or training.
  • Must pass all criminal history check requirements as required by ORS 536-181.537 and in accordance with OAR - and drug screening.

Essential Job Duties

  • Provides direct services and produces documents related to patient care including but not limited to: Mental Health assessment comprehensive mental health assessment Individual Service and Supports Plan (ISSP) record of all client related contacts within agency timelines in agency electronic health record.
  • Follows HIPPA guidelines 90 day reviews and safety plans.
  • Develop and implement referral process and procedures for students who will be served by the program; educate school staff parents and appropriate community partners on referral details.
  • Attends weekly staffing and review meetings for individual client planning.
  • Develop and implement integrated services and therapeutic milieu within the day treatment program
  • Connect with the schools to determine if a child is a candidate for mental health treatment or interventions and attend monthly committee meetings to review referrals.
  • Complete intake paperwork releases assessment and treatment plan (unless child is already enrolled in services) within 7 days.
  • Develop strategies and interventions in the school to intervene at a lower level of care and to assess needs for level of care.
  • Help transition students into day treatment programs.
  • Provide education to family members through support/skills building education groups.
  • Assists clients and family in accessing community resources (makes referrals) and transportation if needed.
  • Assist client and family in engaging in pro social activities and improving childs ability to remain in school setting.
  • Provides supportive and problem-solving counseling to clients and their families consistent with ISSP; responds to crisis situationsmay include after-hours consultation with the crisis team.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and travel for trainings and regional meetings as appropriate.
  • Meet with clients and/or family members on an individual basis to offer support guidance and insight into parenting skills and behavior management techniques.
  • Complies with CHDs policies and procedures Federal and State of Oregon laws pertinent to the position (which are numerous and various and include regular supervision requirements and ethics adherence).
  • Other duties as assigned.
