Summary

At HAL R&D we focus on innovative solutions for intelligent management of energy resources in modern data center environments. Join an engineering team dedicated to advancing power electronics systems hardware control and high-reliability switching architectures for mission-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support hardware architecture design and system integration for advanced power and energy management platforms.
  • Develop prototype and test embedded control systems for real-time power distribution and reliability (including ATS/STS switching multiplex power routing).
  • Conduct hands-on power system testing and validation focusing on rack-level and hall-level equipment in laboratory settings.
  • Work with control hardware such as automatic transfer switches (ATS) static transfer switches (STS) and multiplexing devices to ensure robust electrical power control.
  • Assist with system troubleshooting reliability assessments and deployment support.
  • Document engineering workflows testing procedures and system findings.

Required Qualifications

  • Current M.S./PhD student in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering or related discipline with a hardware focus.
  • Direct hands-on lab experience with power electronics and embedded system control hardware.
  • Proficiency in PCB design tools (Altium KiCad) and operation of test equipment (oscilloscopes power analyzers thermal imaging cameras network analyzers).
  • Understanding of ATS/STS switching systems power multiplexing architectures and real-time control logic.
  • Familiarity with IEEE standards () UL safety listings and data center electrical codes.
  • Strong troubleshooting and testing skills for mission-critical electrical systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data center infrastructure/operations and automated switching systems.
  • Knowledge of system commissioning reliability testing or control software for hardware interfaces.

Pay is determined based on a variety of factors including but not limited to depth of experience in the practice area.
