PRISM III Grades 35 ELA WIN Block Curriculum Writing Team

(Madeline English School)

Description: Everett Public Schools is seeking highly qualified and motivated Grades 3 4 and 5 teachers to serve on a WIN (What I Need) Block Curriculum Writing Team. This team will collaboratively design and develop supplemental literacy materials that intentionally align grade-level texts to MCAS-style assessment questions. The goal is to strengthen Tier II instruction during WIN Blocks by providing engaging standards-aligned lessons that build key reading comprehension and test-preparation skills for all learners. Work will be done asynchronously and will be overseen by Paolo Lambresa - Principal of the Madeline English School.

Requirements:

  • Open to all grade 3 4 and grade 5 classroom EL and inclusion teachers Instructional Coaches EL Coaches and Literacy Interventionists at the Madeline English School.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Strong growth mindset and collaborative skills
  • Student-centered approach to literacy instruction with high expectations for student achievement.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of Massachusetts ELA standards and curriculum frameworks
  • Have experience designing or delivering small-group instruction (WIN or intervention blocks)
  • Be familiar with MCAS reading comprehension expectations and question design
  • Bring a collaborative mindset and commitment to high-quality inclusive instructional materials

Essential Duties:

Selected educators will work together to:

  • Curate grade-level appropriate texts across genres including:

  • Narrative / Fiction

  • Informational / Nonfiction

  • Paired texts for compare-and-contrast activities

  • Create high-quality questions and tasks aligned to:

    • Massachusetts ELA standards

    • MCAS-style item types (multiple choice short response essay)

  • Design teacher-friendly materials including:

    • Student-facing passage packets

    • Question sets with answer keys and scoring rubrics

    • Graphic organizers and scaffolds to support all learners including multilingual learners and students with disabilities

  • Ensure materials are accessible engaging and easily integrated into existing WIN Block structures

Working Time/Modality: Up to 30 Hours ($1200) to be completed by December 18 2025. Dates for an initial meeting and a check in meeting are TBD. The remaining work time will be done asynchronously.

Compensation: up to 30 hours or a total of $1200 per person (based on the number of teachers). Stipend paid as one sum at the end of the completion of materials. The stipend will be paid January 14 2026.

Number of Positions: 6 (2 per grade level)
