About the Role: Hotel Management & Consulting is seeking a Sales Manager. As a Sales Manager you will lead the sales efforts for the hotel and report to the General Manager while working closely with the HMC Sales team. The Sales Manager will be responsible for identifying prospecting and closing sales. This position will also be responsible for maintaining existing accounts and developing new sources of business.

Primary Duties:
  • Implement a strategic plan that aligns with revenue management and hotel objectives to assist the sales staff in meeting and exceeding room booking goals
  • Perform sales calls to book future business including cold calls appointments on-site tours trade shows expos e-mails and other marketing and sales initiatives to drive occupancy
  • Booking negotiated corporate extended stay and group reservations
  • Responding to all sales inquiries; written email and phone
  • Developing and promoting the hotel through frequent oral and written communication and/or participation in business and community relations
  • Organizing and/or attending scheduled Sales Department and related meetings by preparing material for weekly sales agenda
  • Reviewing present and future business and communicating information and changes to all departments
  • Manage hotel presales strategies and leads
  • Creating packages and direct mail sales blitzes
  • Compiling all sales reports for the property and working closely with the General Manager and Sales Team on sales initiatives
  • Joining and attending all pertinent associations that represent the property
  • Coordinating ongoing research of the travel industry to detect market trends and related information for development of new marketing strategies
  • Performing other tasks or responsibilities as assigned by the General Manager or sales team
  • Other Duties as Assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2-4 years hospitality sales experience preferably in extended stay
  • Must have a valid drivers license
  • Communication skills are utilized for a significant amount of time when interacting with others; demonstrated ability to interact with guests employees and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel the brand and the company
  • Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when completing paperwork and management reports interpreting results giving and receiving instructions and training
  • Mathematical skills including basic math budgeting profit/loss concepts percentages and variances are utilized frequently
  • Problem solving reasoning motivating organizational and training abilities are used often
  • Ability to travel and attend workshops tradeshows and conventions etc.
  • May be required to travel or work nights weekends and/or holidays
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequently required to sit stand talk and hear.
  • This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies up to 20 pounds.
