Job Summary The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees. This role involves maintaining payroll records ensuring compliance with tax regulations and collaborating with HR and accounting teams to resolve discrepancies and manage benefits and deductions. This position is on-site. Key Responsibilities - Process payrollaccurately and on schedule for all employees.
- Verify timesheets hours worked and pay changes; ensure compliance with company policies and labor laws.
- Maintain payroll recordsand employee data including tax details and deductions.
Prepare and distribute payroll reportsfor management. - Ensure compliancewith federal state and local tax regulations.
- Handle employee inquiriesregarding payroll benefits and deductions.
- Coordinate with HRfor onboarding benefits and leave tracking.
- Issue tax forms(e.g. W-2 1099) and assist with year-end reporting.
- Conduct auditsof payroll records to ensure accuracy.
Stay updated onlegislative changesaffecting payroll processes. Process and complete garnishments for employees. Assist the HR Director and HR Manager with projects and tasks assigned. Conduct training sessions with Hiring Managers and introduce and train new hires on the payroll and timekeepingsystem policies and procedures.
Qualifications - Education:
- High school diploma required; Associate or Bachelors degree in Accounting Business or related field preferred.
- Experience:
- 2 years in payroll accounting or HR administration.
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Proficiency in payroll software (e.g. Paycor). Proficiency in MS Excel and/or Smartsheet. - Knowledge of wage and hour laws tax regulations and benefits administration.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and meet deadlines.
Certifications (Preferred but not required) - Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC)
Physical Requirements -The job requires frequent use of hands to touch handle and feel and to reach with hands and arms. May on occasion be required to exert physical effort involving lifting/moving objects that may weigh 20 pounds stooping reaching carrying and pushing. lifting crawling pulling constant use of hands significant bending and reaching climbing. significant physical strength and stamina.
