Description

Fyda Freightliner Columbusis an Elite Support Certifieddealer of new Freightliner trucks and Crane Carrier vocational severe-service vehicles and carries a large inventory of all-makes of pre-owned trucks. Fyda Freightliner Columbus is the largest retailer of new and used Expediters in the United States. Serving the Columbus transportation industry hub since 1985 we operate as a full-service commercial truck dealership and body shop.

Estimator Responsibilities:

Examines damaged vehicle to determine extent of structural body mechanical or interior damage.
Estimates cost of labor and parts to repair or replace each damaged item.
Establishes and maintains good working relationships with insurance adjusters.
Establishes and maintains good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business.
Reviews repair cost estimates with body shop manager or foreman.
Determines feasibility of repair versus replacement of parts such as bumpers fenders and doors.
Prepares insurance forms to indicate repair cost estimates and recommendations.
Estimates cost of repainting converting to special purposes or customizing undamaged vehicles.
Monitors progress and completion of vehicles in the shop and calls customers as necessary
Monitors paper flow to ensure that all documents are accounted for filled out completely and legibly and filed or distributed to the appropriate parties.
Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

Working knowledge of body repair and paint for all makes and models of trucks
Experience with Mitchells estimating software
Ability to operate electronic devices such as a computer efficiently
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including ability to effectively communicate with employees and vendors.
Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and maintain composure.
Ability to work independently and to meet deadlines.
Must be able to pass a background check and a pre-employment drug screening. (Fyda Freightliner follows the National DOT guidelines and tests for marijuana.)
