Description

Humboldt Senior Resource Center (HSRC) is looking for a full-time IS Coordinator. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

JOB SUMMARY: The Information Systems Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation maintenance and performance of the agencys technology systems. This role collaborates with management to support technology goals and implement hardware and software solutions. The Coordinator manages mobile device plans and provides first-line in-house technical support to staff escalating issues to contracted IT providers as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Monitor the performance of agency-wide technical systems to ensure optimal functionality.
  2. Assist in evaluating selecting and deploying hardware and software aligned with agency needs.
  3. Monitor and maintain cybersecurity practices by implementing security protocols managing user access and conducting regular system checks to protect agency data and technology resources. Identify potential risks escalate concerns to contracted IT providers and support staff in following safe technology practices to mitigate threats.
  4. Provide in-house technical support by receiving responding to and troubleshooting staff inquiries and issues in a timely manner.
  5. Determine when to escalate issues to contracted IT support ensuring timely resolution of more complex problems.
  6. Maintain peripheral equipment including setup and basic troubleshooting.
  7. Manage all agency-issued mobile devices and data plans (phones tablets mobile hotspots) including:
    • Monitoring usage and functionality.
    • Ordering setting up and assigning devices.
    • Evaluating and managing service plans.
    • Tracking contracts warranties and renewals.
  8. Maintain detailed inventory and asset records for all technology-related equipment.
  9. Serve as liaison to contracted IT support and network administrators.
  10. Coordinate on IT matters such as:
    • Network installation maintenance and testing.
    • Software licensing procurement and compliance.
  11. Work with IT providers to support LAN and system performance.
  12. Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee IT-related information including email signatures voicemail setups phone extension lists and related system records. Ensure timely updates in response to staff position changes office relocations and organizational adjustments to support consistent communication and professional standards.
  13. Support the Director of Operations in defining and achieving information systems goals.
  14. Research and recommend emerging technologies and equipment.
  15. Provide feedback on software workflows and user experience improvements.
  16. Develop and maintain technology-related policies procedures and user guides.
  17. Assist employees in understanding and effectively using agency technology systems.
  18. Support training mentoring and oversight of interns or volunteers within the program area.
  19. Order equipment and manage related supplies.
  20. Coordinate service calls and maintenance needs for printers and copiers; assist with lease negotiations.
  21. Travel frequently between agency sites to provide on-site technical support.

  23. Additional duties may be assigned as needed that align with the responsibilities of the position and support the vision mission and values of the organization.

Qualifications

EDUCATION &/or EXPERIENCE:

  1. High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  2. Must have a post-secondary degree in computer technology or a related technical/vocational discipline.
  3. Must have two (2) years of technical experience with computers network/server management and help desk support.
  4. Project Management Experience required.
  5. Experience with both PC and Mac computers preferred.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES:

  1. Valid California Drivers License and personal auto liability insurance required. Must have a personal vehicle in good driving/operating condition insured for State minimum liability requirements and that can be used for the applicable job functions noted above.

PRE-SCREENING REQUIREMENTS:

  1. This position requires the successful completion of a background check.
  2. A current Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) is required to determine eligibility for driving on behalf of the organization.
  3. COVID-19 and Influenza (flu) vaccinations preferred.

JOB SKILLS:

  1. Proficient in configuring maintaining and troubleshooting both PC and Mac systems as well as common peripheral devices (e.g. printers scanners phones).
  2. Ability to manage and optimize mobile device data plans including setup service plan analysis and hardware lifecycle tracking.
  3. Proven ability to provide first-line in-house technical support with a focus on customer service and clarity.
  4. Skilled in identifying troubleshooting and resolving technical issues promptly and escalating when necessary to contract IT vendors.
  5. Ability to plan and implement new systems or equipment ensuring smooth integration into daily operations.
  6. Highly organized self-motivated and able to manage multiple ongoing projects with minimal supervision.
  7. Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team demonstrating sound listening skills to receive directions and understand requests; maintains a cooperative and supportive attitude.
  8. Comprehensive technical knowledge of information systems including hardware software and network infrastructure.
  9. Applies good judgement resourcefulness and flexibility to resolve issues and adapt to changing circumstances.
  10. Maintains confidentiality reliability and ethical standards; consistently demonstrates punctuality attendance and responsibility in work performance.
  11. Maintains participant privacy and organizational confidentiality adhering to HIPAA and agency standards.
  12. Remains calm and effective when priorities shift deadlines change and unexpected issues arise.
  13. Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize plan and meet deadlines consistently.
  14. High attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality accurate work.

  21. Proficient with database software and the latest Microsoft Office applications and web-based applications such as timekeeping training and email programs.
  22. Strong recordkeeping skills with the ability to accurately maintain and organize files documentation and technology inventory in accordance with agency procedures and audit requirements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods use hands and fingers to operate a computer mobile devices and related office equipment and communicate clearly in person and through electronic means. The position requires frequent standing walking bending and reaching to install move or troubleshoot technology equipment such as computers printers phones and peripherals. The employee must occasionally lift carry or move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. This role also requires the ability to drive between agency sites to provide on-site technical support. Visual acuity and the ability to distinguish color are necessary for working with computer displays software interfaces and wiring or device indicators.
