The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of flow cytometry/hematology/hematopathology. Knowledge and/or certification in Molecular Pathology and/or Pathology Informatics is preferred. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. American Board of Pathology CP-only or AP/CP.
Teaching responsibilities may include training of medical students residents fellows and post-doctoral students as well as formal lecture opportunities within the Department and Hematopathology Division.
Clinical responsibilities may include evaluation and diagnosis of hematopoietic neoplasms and other disorders through participation in bone marrow tissue flow cytometry services review of peripheral blood and body fluid smears and evaluation of hemoglobinopathies. Responsibilities also include weekend call.
Research is not a requirement forfaculty on the AC track. Candidates may have opportunities to participate in quality improvement projects case reports flow cytometry/hematology/hematopathology.
