Position Summary
As an Apprentice youll play a vital part in manufacturing operations. The apprentice will shadow fellow machinists to be introduced to milling lathe grinding polishing tooling and inspection. The Diamond America Apprenticeship Program is a State certified program through Stark State College. Diamond America covers 100% of the tuition costs.
Responsibilities:
- Practice basic machining operations. Learn to adjust machine settings and parameters to achieve desired results.
- Learn to select and use appropriate tools and measuring instruments.
- Learn to inspect machined parts for accuracy and conformance to specifications using measuring tools.
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints. Understand dimensions tolerances and other specifications.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the machine shop.
- Learn basic machine maintenance procedures.
- Adhere to all safety rules and procedures.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Ability to communicate wit production teams and managers
- Proficient at Math with analytical abilities
- High attention to details
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects
- Punctual consistent attendance
