Position Summary
The RN Emergency Room provides professional nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department through assessment planning implementation and evaluation of care. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment managing acute and critical patient situations and collaborating closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective care delivery.
Key Responsibilities

Implement monitor and evaluate individualized patient care plans.

Monitor record and communicate patient condition and response to care interventions.

Serve as a primary coordinator for all disciplines to ensure seamless patient care.

Execute physician and nursing orders accurately and promptly.

Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs in collaboration with the healthcare team.

Respond effectively to emergency situations using advanced clinical judgment and critical thinking.

Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory requirements.

Adhere to infection control and safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications & Requirements

Experience:Minimum of 5 years of recent experience in an Emergency Room or acute care setting.

Education:Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred).

Licensure:Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Rhode Island (or compact state eligibility).

Certifications:

BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required

ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - Required

PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - Preferred

TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - Preferred
