ABOUT YOU
We are hiring a highly motivated individual to join the Joint Support and Enabling Command (JSEC) as Staff Officer (Engagement) NATO Grade 15.
In this role you will be responsible for preparing and post-processing JSEC engagements as well as synchronizing all necessary activities within JSEC to support these engagements. While utilizing your comprehensive understanding of joint & combined NATO operations you develop a mid- and long-term engagement plan advise on outreach activities plan and coordinate the development of preparation packages and contribute to the information and communication activities. Your actions require clarity of thought sound consistent judgement good interpersonal and communication skills to cooperate with other NATO commands/stakeholders. Your work will play a key role in the development of permanent or annual StratCom documents communication plans and directly contribute to the successful accomplishment of the JSEC engagement process.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate will have
University Degree and 2 years function related experience or Higher Secondary education and completed advanced vocational training leading to a professional qualification or professional accreditation with 4 years post related experience;
Experienced Officer with a professional background of a NATO Joint Combined Staff;
Comprehensive understanding of joint & combined NATO operations;
Understanding of the working and planning procedures on operational and tactical level;
Experienced in staff procedures in a multinational military staff environment;
Familiar with NATO regulations and procedures related to engagement and StratCom;
Working knowledge of Automatic Data Processing (ADP) systems;
A good command of English both written and spoken.
The following would be considered as an advantage:
Any further training certificates and courses related to subject field or acquired through NATO;
Experience in NATO or other missions (joint & combined as SME or in respective staff functions for StratCom/Info Ops/PSYOPS/Public Affairs/KLE at operational military-strategic or MOD-level);
Experience and skills utilizing respective directives and documentation and implement them in the planning.
YOUR ROLE
Develop a mid- and long-term engagement plan;
Advise the Command Group (CG) on outreach activities to support JSEC leadership in close coordination and Public Affairs (PA);
Plan and coordinate the development of preparation packages for CG level engagements;
Establish and maintains relation to various engagement communities & nations and support the establishment and maintenance of a functional network with nations.
Represent the Branch Head in JSEC battle rythm/events if required;
Contribute to the planning of information & communication activities (ICA) as integral part of JSEC planning and decision-making processes (e.g. OPP campaign synchronization);
Support in the preparation conduct and post-processing of StratCom-related boards / working groups / meetings e.g. COMMSWG;
Participate in NATO conferences / meetings / boards.

YOUR TEAM
Headquarters JSEC provides a resilient operational-level Joint Headquarters capable of supporting 24/7 operations to coordinate enablement (at the operational level) and on order the execution of reinforcement by forces (RbyFo) and sustainment flow in order to contribute to the Alliances ability to project and sustain combat power into a Joint Operations Area (JOA).
The Communications Directorate (J10) has the responsibility for planning and execution of Strategic Communications (StratCom) in accordance with higher HQs direction and guidance and HQ RRAs as functional command for SACEURs AOR.
The Strategic Communication Branch (StratCom) is responsible for the execution of Strategic Communications preparing direction and guidance for the HQ communication capabilities and information staff functions.

CONTRACT
Serving civilian members of NATO will be offered a contract in accordance with the NATO Civilian Personnel Regulations.
Newly recruited staff will be initially offered a definite duration contract of three years. Thereafter an indefinite duration contract might be offered.

Salary values indicated in this vacancy notice are based on NATOS Single Salary Spine scale;
The salary is tax free including (where eligible) expatriation family and childrens allowances and additional privileges for expatriate staff;
