    Job Summary: Under the direction of the Building Service Foreman the Custodian Part-Time position is assigned to the Central Office and is responsible for maintaining the building in a clean orderly and secure manner following a predetermined schedule; and to do other related work as required. This position is considered essential personnel and may be required to work during inclement weather emergency situations and other school closings.

    Qualifications:
    1. High School graduate or GED.
    2. Knowledge of cleaning solutions and equipment.
    3. Ability to do simple arithmetic and follow written and oral instructions. correctly and safely use tools associated with the HVAC and refrigeration trades.
    4. Strength and health adequate for unassisted lifting of 50-75 pounds and other heavy items.
    5. Previous experience in custodial work preferred.
    6. Ability to complete tasks with direct supervision.
    7. Pleasant and professional.
    8. Must be able to pass a security background check.
    Responsibilities:
    1. Selects appropriate equipment and supplies sweep and clean floors in offices corridors and other areas.
    2. Uses brooms brushes mops power-operated scrubbing machines vacuum cleaners buffers carpet sweepers liquid floor finishes dust absorbers and other custodial equipment and supplies.
    3. Collects and disposes of trash scrap and garbage.
    4. Unloads supplies delivers to proper storage areas and positions on shelves or storage racks.
    5. Move furniture office equipment and other items which might necessitate the lifting of heavy or bulky articles
    6. Maintains lavatories in clean and sanitary conditions.
    7. Sweeps mops and scrubs floors walls and partitions along with cleaning and deodorizing wash basins and other lavatory equipment.
    8. Washes and cleans windows light fixtures ventilators and other items which may require climbing in excess of fifteen feet.
    9. Cleans and polishes desks chairs tables cabinets and other office furniture
    10. Assists in snow removal operations by shoveling snow spreading chemicals sweeping or as otherwise directed.
    11. Remain on school property during assigned hours.
    12. Assumes responsibility for the closing of the building each day and for determining before leaving that all doors and windows are secured and all lights except for those left on for safety reasons are turned off.
    13. May perform minor maintenance tasks in keeping assigned areas safe and operational
    14. May occasionally perform routine ground maintenance functions.
    15. Reports major repairs needed promptly so a work order can be created.
    16. Reports immediately to the Building Service Foreman any damage to the buildings or grounds.
    17. Performs other job related duties as assigned.

    Physical Demands:
    1. Persons performing service in this position classification will exert 50 to 75 pounds of force to frequently lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects
    2. Must have an adequate range of motion in the upper extremities.
    3. This type of work may involve ascending and descending ladders stairs scaffolding ramps and will involve walking or standing for extended periods.
    4. Piercing the nature of sound near and far vision depth perception providing oral information the manual dexterity to operate equipment and use hand tools and handle and work various materials and objects are important aspects of this job.
    5. Exposure to hot cold wet humid or windy conditions caused by weather may occasionally be experienced.
    Pay & Hours: This position is a part-time position with a work week of 20 hours at $16.00 per hour
