Sr Advanced CAD Specialist

Engineering division of Honeywell Building Automation (BA) is hiring a Advanced ECAD Specialistto administer and integrate our Electronic Design Applications across various building management systems including Fire and Security products. This role ensures the performance stability and integration of CAD and simulation tools enhancing design and development projects. Responsibilities include managing ECAD/EDA applications relevant integrated software managing licensing updates and supporting IT server infrastructure and intelligent tools upgrades. Role will require cross-functional collaboration to drive component management & optimization within ECAD/EDA applications. The position involves solving diverse technical issues and maintaining system functionality integrity and efficiency across our EDM (Engineering Data Management).

Key responsibilities:

• Administer Siemens EDM system (setup configure permissions & workflows docs)
• Control E-CAD release process in Teamcenter with design data and revision management
• Support design teams in data retrieval check-in/check-out operations and issue resolution
• Identifying alternate solution & FFF compatibility especially for parts with obsolescence risks
• Manage schematic symbols PCB footprints & 3D models for electronic components
• Ensure library compliance with company standards IPC specs and design guidelines
• Validate and document component data parameters and metadata (P/Ns & supplier info)
• Generate ECAD symbols cell development and 3D Mapping in GHCL-EDM system for BA
• Optimize complex parts symbols and geometry while performing Quality Assessment (QA)
• Learn and integrate data with NPR MPN Teamcenter Mentor Graphics EDM library
• Maintain drive supervise and implement robust technical design process and guidelines
• Ensure component compliance with internal regulatory and RoHS/REACH requirements
• Develop data storage solutions and integrate third-party applications with PLM & ERP
• Support cross-functional teams on SW licensing contract negotiation & IT infrastructure plan
• Connect E-CAD library systems across multiple design tools by collaborating with global cross functional teams to drive common processes tools for cycle time reduction (especially thru NPR MPN Mentor Graphics EDM & Siemens EDM Xpedition)

Qualification:

• Bachelors degree with 10 years of relevant/equivalent experience or Masters with 8 years.
• Proven ability to support multidisciplinary teams and interact across technical levels.
• Familiar with software licensing version upgrades and remote access tools (i.e SSH VNC).
• Management of library versioning access control and synchronization between global teams.
• Self-driven motivator with history of risk mitigation in multipipeline engineering teams .
• Influencing technology & strategy decisions with a high-level of expertise and knowledge.
• Excellent focus on execution with responsiveness to customers team and management.
• Be a growth enabler with an entrepreneur mindset that can drive future automated roadmap.
• Ability to interact and work effectively with individuals at all levels of engineering & sourcing.
• Will be an added advantage if worked on integrating FMEA FTA and prediction analysis.
