Ronald McDonaldHouse Toronto encompasses a House for 81 families in downtown Toronto and sevenFamily Rooms in hospitals across the Greater Toronto Area and in Sudbury. Thefamilies we serve come from throughout Ontario across Canada and around theworld.

We are seeking a full-time Family ServicesCoordinator to join our team at the House located at 240 McCaul play a vital role in ensuring the consistent and qualitydelivery of our mission in Family Services in the House. This position isonsite with rotating shifts and some flexibility is required to support shiftsoutside regular working hours if needed.

The Role

The Family Services Coordinator is thefirst line of communication with the Guest Family and is responsible forwelcoming and providing service to all families staying at the House. TheFamily Services Coordinator facilitates the family intake and registrationprocess and coordinates family stays at the House. This role provides familieswith resources to adapt to communal living and settling into Toronto while alsoensuring adherence to policies and procedures to provide a safe warmcomfortable and compassionate environment for families guests andvolunteers.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Welcomeregister and acquaint residents to the readiness of rooms and the facility and assign rooms toaccommodate residents while assessing priorities of residents needs. Act asthe primary contact for the facility operations or family issues that ariseduring their shift.
  • EnsureHouse operations are in accordance with the guidelines and protocols of RonaldMcDonald House Toronto while on shift.
  • Manageall aspects of security (property and persons) and report any related issues orconcerns.
  • Fosterstrong values-based relationships with all key stakeholders acting as acontact for family referrals admissions and support.
  • Workclosely with volunteers to engage and support as necessary to maintain a safeand comfortable environment for families.
  • Prepareaccurate and timely administrative reports and documentation as required forboth locations including maintaining up to date family records directory anddatabase.
  • Completeadministrative tasks such as answer phones respond to emails and deliveriesprocess payments data entry and filing manage waitlist and referral processbackground checks preparation for meetings creating and distributingcommunication materials etc.
  • Assistwith housekeeping and maintenance duties and various event and meeting set-upand execution.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ronald McDonald House Toronto understands that forany role its possible that no one person will possess all of the desiredqualifications. The following is an outline of the qualifications we believeare important to bring to the position and/or develop while in the role.

Education& Experience

  • Minimum of one (1) years experience in providing family supportservices or related services.
  • Experience working in healthcare with vulnerable populations ornot-for-profit organizations is an asset.
  • Minimum high school diploma.
  • CPR / First Aid Certification is an asset.
  • Experience in volunteer management is an asset.

KnowledgeSkills and Abilities

  • Completion ofsatisfactory reference check background check and a satisfactory VulnerableSector Check.
  • Strong customer service skills and experience working with families hospital stakeholders and volunteers.
  • Excellent communication (verbal/written) and listening skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to prioritize multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Exemplary collaboration and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships. Ability to work effectively within a team as well as independently.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and conflict resolution skills.
  • Working knowledge of technology including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to manage confidential information and sensitive situations with excellent judgment compassion and discretion.
  • Demonstrated ability to flourish in environments of significant change.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and shifts including evenings and weekends to support a 24-hour operation.
  • Excellent communication (verbal / written) and listening skills.
