This position is based in WFP headquarters in Rome and reports to the Head of the Job Evaluation Unit under the overall supervision of the Chief Talent Acquisition and Deployment branch (HRMTM). The person will be responsible for conducting job evaluations/classifications for WFP globally under the overall guidance and support of the HR Officer. Technical knowledge and experience is required in order to perform the role analyse and assess classification cases. The purpose of this assignment is to contribute to a consistent application of job classification standards across the organization by building capacity and providing professional expert advice to support the overall and strategic mandate of the unit.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Conduct reviews of job classification requests including unique jobs re-classification requests and non-rotational positions and where needed collect additional information from the requesting/originating Division/Office to ensure consistency in application of process review. Proactively propose course of action for job classification requests and resolution of issues.
2. Independently assess each classification request and provide recommendations building on the ICSC Master standards and other corporate WFP documents (corporate and functional strategies job profiles structural models etc.) for decision of the Chief HRMTM.
3. Provide guidance and advice to managers and employees in the organization on job classification including interpretation of related policies and act as a professional partner by building trustful relationships.
4. Partner with requesting functions to advice on job evaluation matters in line with WFP corporate procedures.
5. Contribute to the review and formulation of new policies to ensure that current procedures are aligned with the organization changing environment.
6. Drive job evaluation capacity strengthening initiatives by developing specific training for HQ and Field colleagues to enhance job evaluation standards and awareness across the organization.
7. Plan design and develop specific capacity building initiatives (i.e.: brown bags webinars community of practice ) based on identified needs capacity building priorities and in consultation with key stakeholders.
8. Ensure consistency and standardization of all job evaluation capacity building activities.
Provide technical support and facilitate the use of the learning system adopted for the training delivery.
10. When required develop training content and/or supporting reference resources such as presentations practical exercises and handouts to facilitate learning.
11. Manage and analyze the post-training evaluations to ensure feedback is accurately taken into consideration to develop effective learning experience and address any potential learning issue.
12. Proactively propose improvements to develop processes in the unit and to enhance the quality and efficiency of the job classification team.
13. Take an active role in the development and review of new processes workflows forms and
toolkits within the team in order to ensure high standards and quality of each deliverable.
14. Provide expert advice to team members to validate the quality of deliverables and maintain high the teams reputation.
15. Review existing job profiles and/or support with the development of new job profiles incl. conducting data analysis proposing recommendations and validating language is aligned with the grade level.
16. Review ToRs submitted for Reassignment to ensure alignment with existing job profiles and proposed grade levels and make recommendations to the Chief HRMTM. Where needed conduct classification of unique posts.
17. Provide coaching training and guidance to other team members proactively sharing knowledge and act as role-model to contribute to a safe growth environment and to the integration of new colleagues in the organization.
18. Support other teams in the HRMTM branch when needed and upon request.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Education:
Advanced University Degree in Human Resources Organizational development Industrial relations Business Administration or another related field. First University degree may be accepted with additional relevant courses and/or experience.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in various Talent Management roles including job evaluation and learning & development in international contexts.
Knowledge & Skills:
Knowledge and proven experience in the application of the ICSC job evaluation standards.
Knowledge of how to analyse jobs structures and workforce composition.
Demonstrated experience in designing developing and implementation learning & development initiatives.
Excellent verbal written and organizational skills with the attitude to adapt communication style to relevant audience.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects at any time while maintaining high standards of work on a tight schedule in a fast-paced environment.
Collaborating effectively with all stakeholders with the aptitude to adapt communication style to relevant audience.
Ability to clearly communicate with managers and staff; draft communication messages linking to the organizational strategies.
Ability to work in an international environment as part of a multicultural and diverse team.
Demonstrate confidence and cognitive capacity to assimilate different perspectives and formulate recommendations.
Innovative mindset with a drive for improvements aligned with the units and organizations strategy.

Language:
Excellent knowledge of English. Good working knowledge of the second UN language preferably French Spanish or Arabic is desirable.
