Justice Resource Institute (JRI) supports the Department of Youth Services (DYS) by placing qualified Clinical Directors and Clinicians in their Northeast Central and Southeast programs. This Masters Level Clinician/Therapist position is based at the DYS Paul T. Leahy Center in Worcester MA.
Compensation
The pay range for this position is $68224 to $71224per year. The listed range reflects what we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this role at the time of posting the position. The actual compensation an employee is offered may vary based on several factors such as experience education licensure certifications and qualifications. This range may be modified in the future.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Opportunity for some remote work as approved.
What Youll Do:
The primary role of the Clinician is to write and produce a comprehensive assessment document on a newly committed youth. A clinical assessment includes utilization of various screening tools to measure risk needs trauma substance use and family circumstances. This document provides the youths DYS Team and parent/guardian with information for determining service needs and the most appropriate level of care for the youths initial residential or community placement. This position will maintain a caseload of newly committed assessment youth within the assigned Region. The Clinician will coordinate with health educational clinical caseworkers parents/guardians etc. as part of this DYS assessment process. When appropriate this role will consult and participate in treatment or review meetings.
Additionally this role will provide clinical support to the DYS programs when needed throughout the Central Region. The Clinician will work with program management teams to provide stable and supportive environments for youth. Responsibilities include but are not limited to providing individual group and family therapy and case management services. Clinical licensure supervision is provided.
Requirements:
- Must be 21 years or older.
- Masters Degree in a license-eligible clinical discipline such as Social Work or Mental Health Counseling.
- Masters level candidates must currently have or be eligible for an LMHC or LCSW/LICSW in Massachusetts. Licensed candidates are preferred. Upon attainment of independent licensure Clinicians receive a $3000 raise.
- Skilled writer including clinical documentation and treatment need areas
- Candidates must have experience working with adolescents and their families knowledge in case conceptualization and crisis stabilization and management. Comprehensive training in DBT will be offered.
- Experience assessing and making recommendations around mental health and/or substance use needs family functioning and trauma related difficulties.
- Experienced in suicide prevention and intervention strategies.
- Knowledge of bias and racial disparities experienced by youth and families in the juvenile justice system.
- Knowledge of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and other cognitive-behavioral therapies.
- Must be flexible to meet the needs of youth and families.
- Proficient in Microsoft office suite including Microsoft Word.
- Acceptable driving and state/federal background checks.
