Clinical Inpatient Pharmacist Acute Care Hospital (Contract North Dakota Region)
Overview
A leading regional acute care hospital is seeking an experienced Clinical Inpatient Pharmacist to support its inpatient pharmacy services. This position involves verifying medication orders overseeing dispensing processes and providing clinical pharmacotherapy support to interdisciplinary teams. Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive order verification for accuracy safety and adherence to clinical protocols
- Oversee medication preparation and dispensing in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards
- Provide therapeutic drug monitoring and clinical interventions to optimize patient outcomes
- Collaborate with physicians nurses and other care team members to support evidence-based medication management
- Participate in antimicrobial stewardship and other clinical pharmacy initiatives
- Respond to medication-related inquiries from healthcare staff
- Review and adjust medication regimens based on lab values patient conditions and clinical guidelines
- Support transitions of care through medication reconciliation activities
- Ensure compliance with controlled substance management and documentation procedures
- Maintain accurate records within the electronic health record and pharmacy systems
- Contribute to quality improvement efforts within the pharmacy department
Qualifications
- Active pharmacist license in the state of practice (or eligibility to obtain)
- Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient or acute care pharmacy experience
- Strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations and clinical therapeutics
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting
- Up-to-date resume with full work history
- Professional references validating clinical experience
- Completion of a pharmacy skills or competency checklist (as required)
Work Environment & Schedule
Contract assignment approximately 30 weeks in duration within a regional acute care hospital serving the North Dakota area. Full-time schedule; specific shift details provided during the interview process.
